Trustee Opportunities at Boingboing Foundation
Boingboing Foundation is seeking new Trustees to join our Board and help guide the next stage of our development. We are a charity rooted in co‑production, co‑research and social justice, working alongside communities who experience systemic disadvantage to challenge inequalities and create meaningful systems change.
We are especially keen to welcome applications from young trustees (aged 30 and under) and people from minoritised or marginalised communities, reflecting our commitment to diverse representation at all levels of the organisation.
About the Role
Trustees play a vital role in ensuring the charity is well‑governed, financially sound, and true to its mission. Trustees act collectively and share equal responsibility for the strategic direction and oversight of the organisation.
We are looking for people who can bring insight, challenge and support across one or more of the following portfolio areas:
Finance – supporting financial governance and oversight
Governance & Legal – ensuring compliance and strong governance practice
Human Resources – supporting fair, effective and lawful HR processes
Communications & Knowledge Exchange – championing co‑created outputs and amplifying our work
You do not need to have been a trustee before what matters most is your commitment to our mission, your willingness to learn, and your ability to contribute your skills and experience.

Can devote the necessary time and energy to the role
Act with integrity and are confident speaking up
Work well as part of a team and make decisions for the good of the charity
Trustees are expected to:
Complete an induction
Attend bi‑monthly online Board meetings (typically 8–10am, first Wednesday of April, June, August, October, December, February)
Serve a minimum three‑year term (up to three terms)
Engage with governance training and development opportunities
Read Board papers and stay connected with organisational updates
